Cape Charles
– 3.5 miles.  Cape Charles features coffee houses, pub, tackle/bait shop, antiques, resort shops and upscale restaurants.  It offers amazing sunsets, fishing from its pier, bird watching, canoeing, kayaking, biking, scooter and golf cart rentals.  Cape Charles has a spectacular long sandy beach for relaxing in the sun.

Kitpopeke State Park – 8.5 miles.  It provides a half-mile of beach where calm, shallow waters are perfect for small children.  It has a wide boat launching ramp, fishing pier and walking/biking/bird watching trails.                                                 www.dcr.state.va.us/parks/kiptopeke.htm .

Oyster – 2.8 miles. The quaint village of Oyster has a public boat ramp that provides access to some of the best flounder, drum, trout and croaker fishing on the east coast.

Eastern Shore National Wildlife Refuge – 11 miles.  752 acres of maritime forests, thickets, grasslands, fresh & saltwater ponds that provide habitat for stopover wildlife.  Witness the annual drama of the huge migration of songbirds, raptors and monarch butterflies.   www.fws.gov/northeast/easternshore/ .
